Government of India announced nationwide total lockdown since Mar 24, 2020 to prevent the spread of COVID19 and SPEL Semiconductor Ltd suspended the factory operations accordingly to ensure legal compliance. Further to support the Customers supplying products in Medical applications, SPEL was constantly requesting the local government authorities to provide permit for resuming factory operations to serve the global customers in Essential Services Business.
After providing the required undertakings to comply with National directives towards COVID19 and to follow the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) prescribed by the authorities, Government of TamilNadu through District Collector have given permission to SPEL Semiconductor to resume partial operations. Accordingly SPEL resumed production with 33% of manpower from May 9, 2020. This will continue until the further notification from government for total lifting of lockdown.
