Karthigai Deepam is an important festival observed during the Tamil month of Karthigai (mid-Nov to mid-Dec). The full moon day of this Karthigai month is called Karthigai Pournami which is widely celebrated. Dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Muruga (Kartikeya), Karthigai Deepam is similar to Deepavali, as Devotees light oil lamps to worship & seek blessings.
